San Servolo – Istrian craft brewery and resort

Bujska pivovara d.o.o. of Buje in north-western Istria is an AG VEBO business partner in the HoReCa and event sector. The brewery has been running since January 2013 and is considered the first Istrian craft brewery — it started in a converted garage with a capacity of 50,000 litres a year and today produces roughly 800,000 litres a year under the San Servolo brand.

What they make

The brewery produces unfiltered, unpasteurised beer with secondary fermentation in the bottle. The core range is six beers — pale, premium red, dark and gold, plus an APA and an IPA — with seasonal collaborations with local producers on top. The brewing water comes from the Sv. Ivan spring in the Mirna valley.

Above the production hall sits Beer & Steak House San Servolo, and beside it San Servolo Resort & Beer Spa 4* — a boutique hotel with 19 rooms, a restaurant, a beer hall, a pool, a gym and the only beer spa in Croatia, where the baths are drawn from the house beer. That makes the site a venue for corporate events, tastings and team building as well.
